More Stop Motion .

Emma Meadows, Daryl Bradbury, Emily Caine, Laura Jones
'Lola Spencer- Merry Happy'

We were very pleased with the results from our first attempt at 'stop motion' in fact we have decided to include it further. It is a quirky edition to our film and will also offer variation from shots of laura (our lead singer) and the storyline of her and her broken relationship.

Our first issue was determining were else to use stopmotion. After reading the lyrics we chose 'eating cheese on toast' because it is an easy lyrics to add a visual to, below is the example of our stop motion. We bought the food from the canteen and used the exact same process as before, one person taking images from the same angle and the others moving the subject. We then uploaded these images into premier and placed them on the timeline, we made the time each image is shown for almost simultaneous but not completely as we didn't think it was necessary the process was exactly perfect, in fact we thought it added to the technique.

We decided to use one more example of stop motion to keep the feature consistant and not appear random, though we didn't find another literal phrase to show via stop motion we thought of the idea of tearing up an image of the 'happy couple' . We thought this would be a useful metaphor for the break up.

Below is the image we originally used, it is a still from previous filming, we simply enlarged it and printed it. It is in black and white to acknowledge it is in the past, when the couple was happy together.

This is Daryl shooting the image on a plain surface.

Below is a video of our final stop motion, this is our favourite and through feedback we have learned it is also the most popular with our audience. It is well placed within the song, surrounded by complementing shots and again showcases the visual benefits of stop motion.
