'Lola Spencer- Merry Happy'
We decided to include some 'stop motion' into our video. We believe this will add to the orignality and quirkiness of our video. We researched the lyrics and highlighted areas we feel stop motion would work affectively and provide a great visual. Our first use of stop motion will be to represent the lyrics '' because you said it ( i love you) and you wrote it down''. Our idea is to have a scrunched up piece of paper and have it reveal itself as a love note. To keep this relevant we have thought of putting 'i love you Lola' the name of our artist. The images below are our process of stop motion, there is also a video of our final result.
Stage 1...
This image shows the materials we used to compose our love letter and the camera we used, The camera is the same used to shoot our single cover and digipack, it gives incredibly high quality shots. To keep the note authentic we decided to hand write it rather than print one of the computer.
Stage 2...

These are two examples of images we shot of the note, oncew uploaded. As Daryl took mostly consistant shots the is not alot of editing necessary. The next step of stop motion is to order the images and determine the speed of the stop motion and time each image is shown for. Then we must also place it into the relevant time of the song.

Stage 2...
This is what we produced. We illustrated hearts to add to the aesthetics. The scrunched effect is due to the paper screwing into a ball and then revealing itself. We wanted to show this as a metaphor of relationship being 'on and off'.
Stage 3...
This is an image of Daryl shooting the prop. We chose the table top as a background as it would provide a plain background. We feel a complicated background could distract from the message of the note. To ensure the images were from a mostly consistant angle and shared similair lighting Daryl (the photographer) stayed still and I (Emily) positioned the paper.

This video is of the images we took on the camera. There are two examples of the note opening. One with a few stages of movement and one with more. We done this to give us variety when it comes to editing our video.
