We started our filming in the studio, we focused on violin shots making sure we used lots of angles and close ups of the violin (shots of the violin, strings and bow).We used bright lights and a simple white background for this section of filming.
The violinist is wearing mostly blue and black as these are simple colours therefore stand out against the white background and put focus on the violin itself.
We will continue to produce more violin shots to add diversity to the film.
We also used the studio to film singing shots of the main character in the song. We also used a white background for these as there are less distractions and the emphasises is put on the words and expressions.
We used a variety of shots from close up to long shot, so we have more options when editing. We need to re shoot some of these shots as miscellaneous items can be seen in the background that didn't show on the camera screen.
We also want to use this set up for posed shots in the instrumental.
For the action scenes we filmed outside in a wood-like environment, to make the scenes appear to be in a fairytale. Such as the loving and fighting scenes, it is a very scenic location which works well with the fairytale image. We also did an alternate singing sequence to get a variety of shots to choose from. The main character is wearing the same clothes for continuity.
