Evaluation

For my coursework i was to create a new music magazine and produce a front cover, contents page and a double page spread. Also i had to use a minimum of 4 original images. I have achieved this and i think that the finished product has turned out very well. I was not sure how well this would have worked as i was new to the photoshop software however i think that i have shown my best ability using this software and producing a magazine that looks like it would fit in with existing magazines.
In each piece it's clear to see that i have created a house style and it is present in each. This being with my text fonts i have used aswell as the simple colour scheme i have chosen. I think it worked really well to only use the 3 colours, black, purple and white. I didn't want it to look very busy like some music magazines. I think it shows that i was trying to create generalised magazine (not to one specific genre of music) i have done this by making it as simplistic as possible.
If i were to have more time for this i would maybe have changed the layout of my contents and make the main focus the cover story. However i think that it works the way i have done it, but i still think it could be improved on slightly.
I am really pleased with the way my double page worked out. I used the key features of magazine writing. Writing my interview in columns and using pull out quotes from the text. I think that this makes it more interesting for a reader, also the interview is written like a transcript showing when each person is speaking and interuptions sucha as laughter. This making it more informal would make it easier for a reader to relate to it as they would feel part of it as it is a real conversation.

Overall i am pleased with my finished product, i feel that i have used the technology to the best of my ability, and that i have achieved what i wanted to create and met the requirements of the brief.
