When we actually started filming the scene layout changed quite significantly from what we had proposed in the shot layout draft.
1. We decided against the whole sitting around the table scene, where the characters discuss the plot as its just too dull in a horror/thriller trailer. The start which we had planned for the trailer seemed on re-condsideration to long and drawn out, we wanted to get stuck into the thriller genre straight away and these scene were too slow, we wanted to create a more pulsating impact from the start.
So we decided upon the characters arriving on location backed with a chilling soundtrack to set the scene, we included establishing shots of the vehicle arriving and the characters moving toward the semiary.
2. We broke up this from the next scene using titles, we did this a number of times throughout the trailer as it added pace and encourgement to watch the film. This title, "You have to see this film"-quentin tarantino.
3. A short couple of seconds shot of an eye opening.
4. A number of different shots of movement in the woods using fade to black filters which give the impression of blinking and panic.
5. Another title, "One of the scariest movies of all time"- gory magazine
6. Quick panning shots of the building.
7. Title "...genuinely horrifying.."-empire magazine.
8.9.10. Shots of the preist, a bloody hand and following footsteps.
11. Shots of dialogue among the characters showing the fear as they run for shelter.
12.Title " the entire cinema was shaking in fear"- the times
13. Various shots of the location to create anxiety and dread.
14. Title "by the acclaimed screenwrite Daniel Woodcock"
15. Another scene of the preist aimed to be unnerving.
16. Shot of a character being dragged, after a christian cross is dropped, the camera isnt to reveal the killer.
17. Actor titles, " Callum Leigh", "Matthew Roche", "Jordan Molyneux".
18. Various shots of the inside of the location (slow motion) to again emphaise fear
19. Scene of a character checking the room through a hole in the wall, cut to a shot of a christian cross thrust through the otherside.
20. End Titles, "Demoniac", "Coming Soon".
