Our Own Album Cover Continued...

Emma Meadows, Daryl Bradbury, Emily Caine, Laura Jones

'Lola Spencer- Merry Happy'

With our initial idea of the artwork for the front cover in mind, we tried to find a male volunteer who was wearing brightly coloured trainers. When we saw these bright blue trendy trainers we were happy at how they would contrast with the quirkyness of the girls shoes. We wanted the shoes and grass and colours around to be very vibrant and so we tried to find a patch of grass that was in the light. Our location was in front of the library. Three of the group were wearing the type of shoe that we wanted on the artwork and so we all had a go at our shoes being photographed.

One idea led to another, when trying to make it colourful and keeping within the theme that everything contrasts. We started to add sunflowers to the picture and other brightly coloured flowers. Then we took off all the petals and scattered them.

We positioned the feet in particular ways when photographing them. We had the girls feet crossed over the boys, showing love, friendship and closeness. We also tried the male feet crossed over each other with the females staight. And also with both their feet facing away, showing unhappiness, arguements, and opposites.

This is one of the first shots we took, this was our male volunteer and emily's feet. We recognised we needed to add something and so we found some flowers, which we thought were a quirky and colourful addition to the image.

This is one of later images. It is emma's shoes and andrew's. The legs cross indicating it is a couple photographed which portrays the song's relationship theme. The feet are accompanied by two flowers one is more delicate and feminine and placed near our female character whilst the other is bold. This is a significant contrast we were keen to portray. We like the bright colours in this image. It is also an original idea and we believe would be appealing as a cd cover. We hope to edit the images further however to get the maximum potential from them.

This is an image of daryl asisting laura, we used all our groups feet for images to give us a diverse selection. We are most happy with emma's images though.

A few examples of the flowers we found, we used the pale pink and sunflower on most images. The sunflower offered the brightest colour and the pale pink stem had an pensive element.

This is the location of our shoot. We used the grass for a bright and recognisable background.
