The first thing I have done is researched popular music magazine covers. The magazine genre is rock music and is aimed at an older teen audience. I have looked at magazines like, Rolling Stone, NME, Q, Classic Rock, Kerrang!

The first magazine I looked at was the Rolling Stone. I looked at various different front covers from different issues. I can see that it seems to be classy and for an older audience. Every issue uses the same font for the the title but sometimes in a different colour. The font looks mature and the pictures used are professional where the artist poses alone or with other band members. On most of the issues some of the text "Rolling Stone" is covered by a part of the artist, this shows that the magazine is popular and everyone knows the name of it otherwise people would not be sure of the real name.
