This is the image that we decided on using for our poster. We like this image as it fits in with the urban setting we have tried to use in the rest of our work, and we also liked the effect of the band standing behind the fence, and Joel holding onto the fence. We feel that the fence is almost a reminder of prison, and fits in with the rough image of the genre of music.
To create the effect that is on the poster, we lowered the brightness but highered the contrast of the picture.
This is our completed poster. We used a white background for the bottom of the poster, and put the writing in black boxes.
We got the idea from the album cover from The Libertines 2nd album. We feel that this helps covey the genre of the band through the poster.
This effect has also been used by bands such as the Sex Pistols.
