Another student, Victoria, who is not a media studies or film studies student, has watched our music video and looked at the didgipack cover and magazine advertisement. She found the video humourous, cheesey and felt it achieved a happy mood. She enjoyed the story line of the geek and popular girl falling in love and thought that the characters were really believeable. When asked if she thinks the song would be a good fundraiser for Breast Cancer, Victoria said she thought it would be a brilliant fundraiser as it appeals to girls of all ages, is fun and catchy. The pink aspects in the video, make her think of the pink breast cancer sign and although she thought the background of the digipack and advertisement should of been a more similar pink to pinks appearing in the video, she liked the continuity of the same background for both digipack and advertisement. We considered Victoria's opinion on the colour scheme of the print aspects, but remained with the opinion that the shade of pink/purple used should be kept, because it reflects a sophisticated band image that girls look up to, and the video itself shows that girls have fun too. Sophistication and the abilty to have fun, we have found, are important aspects of succesfull girl bands, for example Sugar Babes and Girls Aloud.
