Digipak Research.

As a group we decided that in between filming sessions for the music video we would focus on the creating the digipak. We had a few general ideas on how we wanted ours to look, however we felt we needed to look into existing digipaks that were out at the moment, and found some of the covers to albums and singles shown below were very inspring to us;

This single cover has a simple image of the artist on, looking staright into the camera. It also has smaller images used as the background to the cover, which have been faded out slightly so that the main attention is drawn straight to the simple image and the text above this. We liked the idea of using quite a simple image, and are thinking of using this idea at our next photoshoot.

Lily Allen's album cover here is very different from the previous example we had chosen. The artist is not looking at the camera and instead looking more towards the direction of the text, drawing our attention as the audience to this instead. The backgroud is a simple colour that is very neautral. This again draws our attention to the main image and text rather than anything else.

We found this single cover from Lady Gaga very inspring as the theme of it is highly similar to one which we are aiming to achieve. The image of the artist is the main focus of the cover, with the bakground and the money in the foreground being blurred slightly. The artist is positioned at the bottom left of the photograph with the text above her. We like this idea as it looks as though the artist is looking up at the text on the cover; as though interacting with it. We also very much like the idea of the money flying about in the image and may incorporate this within some of our photographs.
