This is one of the designs we have created whilst exploring ideas for the digipack. We like this design because the contrast between the pink and the black makes the front cover really stand out. We also think it reflects the band because of the black connoting sophistication and the pink reflecting the girliness and fun. However, the song itself is fun and upbeat, so this design doesn't seem to directly relate to the song. In addition, we do not think the composition of the picture is strong enough. Therefore, we have decided that this is not our final digipack front cover.
We have decided that the song should be a charity fund raiser single. We have come up with this idea because copies of songs by new bands are often fund raisers for charitys, for example, The Saturdays "Just Can't get Enough" that they released for Comic relief. Further more, we have decided it's release wil be near Christmas and the fact that it's target audience is very much female, means we think it would make alot of money for a women's charity. Due to this, we have decided our single "Being Plastic" is a fundraiser for Breast Cancer. Breast Cancer UK's colour is pink, as is our band's colour, and pink is also associated with Barbie, so that when the audience see this colour they will think of Breast Cancer UK and the fund raiser single. The song is fun, catchy and for a good cause.
