Radio Advertisement

We wanted our radio advertisement for our film to convey a dramatic sense of enigma through the narrating dialogue which could be dispelled comedically by the use of humorous quotes from the film. We use quotes taken directly from the soundtrack of the film, not recorded 'sound-a-likes'. This creates a sense of familiarity between the advertisement and the film so that the audience are comforted by recognition and not discomforted by obscurity. With our demographic in mind we incorporated one of the songs from the soundtrack of our film 'Hounds of Love' by 'The Futureheads' as we thought that the use of popular culture would aid us in attracting out target audience. After coming to a decision on which songs we would like to include in our film and the coinciding radio project we wrote to the bands in question asking for their approval on our use of their songs. Due to the nature of our film, with it being for a certain audience, namely teens due to its classification under the teen-comedy genre, and the fact that it is a short film we decided that it should be advertised as being distributed to be viewed on Film4, as this channel shows films similar in calibre and style to that of our film.
