Locations

Digipack

The first location for the digipack was an urban setting which included graffiti on the wall and an overall grime feel e.g. security bars on the windows. This setting was used to give a feel of the artist having nothing coming from a lower-class area: a typical british rap is often refered to as grime.

The next location for the digipack was in a house for the booklet's inside images; the snooker room was used to show his isolation as the room is dark around him however, he is in suurrounded by light which implies his personality and feelings. The computer was used to show his lonelyness also, the track would produced on the computer and so this was the producer's page. The other two images were set in the bedroom were he is facing the darkness outside again implying his isolation and discomfort. the fact that he constantly has his hood up indicates that he keeps his thoughts and feelings to himself and isolates himself from the rest of the world around him.

Video

Locations for the video also exaggerate his loneliness: at the start of the video, we portray him in bed with his girlfriend, who he adores. She is then suddenly removed from his bed, showing the suddenness of their break up. This is conveyed through a dreamlike effect, as if he can't think of anything else apart from his girl.

Other locations include: walking alone down a dirt track leading towards a bridge. This bridge will be the location of our final scene, where he walks away into the light. The audience could interpret this as he is walking into a new beginning.

There are also numerous shots of the artist walking down a number of roads and alleyways; Again, this conveys his loneliness.

One of the main locations throughout the video is under the bridge, which we are using for the final scene. The bridge had large graffiti images, which gave it an urban feel. This is characteristic of the "thug life" lead by a gangster rapper.

The studio also played a huge part, as this is where the dance scenes took place. In this location, we had a plain white background and strobe lights, often seen in dance scenes. We also used spinning disco lights.
