Although some media platforms such as the televised American show, ‘Beauty and the Geek’ enhance the stereotypical image of the geek and how they are interchangeable. We are sensitive to the factors affecting image, and although our 'geek' is stereotypical it is merely for immediate recognisation not mockery. The existing image of 'Geek' promotes negative representations, that the qualities of a geek are undesirable. Our films desired target audience can recognise and to a degree relate to the characters within our piece, although extreme the representations are distinguishable.

Costume-
Integral to identification, we used various images as a stylised stimulus to help us select appropriate clothing. Images such as the above were used for our ‘Geek’ character. It even inspired our whiteboard scene in the classroom. The exaggerated costume creates an aesthetic element complimentary to filming and identifying.
'Beauty'

Aware there is stigma attatched to popular girls being blonde and unintelligent, we made a conscious decision to give our beauty character an edge. Whilst keeping the connotations of a 'Beauties' bitchy and vein character, we slightly subverted the common conception to give her a more intellectual approach to bitchy!
