The image looks a lot clearer and sharper and so would be suitable for a magazine.
I arranged the pictures on the right side where i had placed the black rectangle shape. All the pictures are at an angle to give the magazine a slight edge. The biggest picture at the bottom was sized this way to show that this is one of the main feature, however this was not the cover picture. The cover picture has its own section on the page, as this is what i have seen in exsisting magazines not just music ones. Usually magazines tend to have a section of what's on the cover. So i decided to do this, but i have not included all the stories on the cover, just the picture and the story behind the quote.
Before starting all the production i had to think about all of the stories i would use, bands, layouts, colour schemes and the genre of the magazine. All of this came form looking at existing magazines.

For the double page spread i decided to do neither the main feature or the cover story, i decided to do it this way to show off more of what i could do. In the way that i'm not using all the same images from a photo shoot. I thought that it would also show what kind of a magazine it is more. The main feature i have clearly shown on the contents page would be Scouting For Girls interview backstage. So i decided that i would do the double page in the same way that would have been done, backstage and created the page about the up and coming bands that were supporting Scouting For Girls. Doing a backstage interview for a real band was easier for me as it meant that i would not need photo shoot pictures and i would be able to use photos of the actual gig instead.
I had the text for the double page spread in a word document so that i could paste it into publisher once i had the layout worked out. So for the layout i picked the picture i believed was the strongest of the collection i had. I edited it in photoshop and then i decided that i would create the layout in photoshop and import it as a picture into publisher. To make sure that the layout would be the corrext size i set the page up to a3 size so i knew it owuld fit perfectly once it was finished. So after picking the picture and placed it so it would be the left page of the double sread. Underneath i used a black rectanlge shape where i could put the introduction to the interview. On the far right side i created a montage of images for the gig that i thought were the bets. I did it this way, as i had seen it in an exisitng magazine, NME, they used this way of showing a collection of images as there were many artists in the fearure, i thought that this would work. So that i wasn't focusing on an image but the interview. At the top of the page i thought that to break up the page and the amount of text i would use a thin rectangle shape across the right page. I have also included the name of the magazine in the top right hand corner, as some magzines have the name of their magazine throughout with the page numbers i decided that i didn't want it to be so small and i wanted it focused throughout.
Once i had finished the layout for the pages i imported it as an image to publisher then created text boxes adn pasted my text in from word. I picked out points from the interview and used them as pull out quotes from the text. Practically all magazines do this aswell as some newspapers, so i needed to make sure the pull out quotes were interesting as they are what capture your attention and makes you want to read the story.
