Photoshoot - Amy's Magazine

We arranged a photo shoot session in the media studio to try and obtain suitable images for our front covers, contents pages and double page spreads. In this session, we photographed both bands many times.

The band that I photographed was Chasing Daylight. This band was made up of four boys, who we thought to have quite an indie-rock image; the look that we were aiming for with our magazine. We also thought the name of the band suited the genre of magazine that we were aiming for. I decided to take some photos outside, and some inside, to see if there was a difference in the quality of images, and to obtain a variety of images that would make it easier when it came to selecting those to include in our project. Below are some of the pictures that I took of the band:

I also photographed the members of the band on their own, as I plan to use these images on my double page spread, as well as some others.

Although the photo shoot was relatively successful, I found that the photographs taken outside were of a higher quality and value, therefore the image that I am going to choose for my front cover is one that was taken outside.

Also, because the outside images were taken in front of a simple white background, they will be easier to modify and play around with in Photoshop.
