On Monday the 1st of December, Jade Gibson and I re-recorded the entire radio news bulletin in the studio. This created continuity within the piece and ensured that none of the sound clips sounded like they had been recorded on separate days. Once I had pieced the news bulletin together, Greg Kerr listened to the radio bulletin. He gave me a lot of pointers for me to edit my piece; including having to make it chattier in some areas where the news had just been listed and sounded quite dull. For example, when one news piece would end, we would move onto the next without any form of comment on the previous piece or build up to the next piece. After listening to his comments, I edited my script so that the style was a lot more entertaining. It included comments at the end of a piece about traffic jams where Jade said how her 'better half was caught up in that' and I commented about how it was horrendous. This made the bulletin seem more realistic and added to the entertainment. We re-recorded the news bulletin the next day, adding in the chattier style, and I pieced it together on Premier. Again, Greg listened and gave me areas to edit. He said that the use of just mine and Jade's voices for all of the news bulletin doesn't break it up enough and to either record the sports and weather with a male voice or to change the music in the background. I have changed the background music although I don't know if it sounds right and may change it back.
