4 Photoshoot

Photoshoot
For my photo shoot, i want neat clean statement images. I'll use a plain white background, a model with strong features or colouring and odd props to make it seem original. I want my model to dress quite simply as i don't want him/her to look too crazy, i want the article to have the full focus.

Camera and Model
I used a Nikon camera and took multiple shots, making sure there were some that were perfect for the magazine. I used my sister for the shots as she has red hair that would stand out on the page and seem quite contrasting to the blue theme, She also has strong features, lips and eyes that are picked up well on camera. I used my bedroom wall for the background as it is plain and cream .. the cream wasn't quite right but it is easy to edit.
One of the strongest images is

Evaluation

This is because it has an upper body shot, and plenty of white space. This could work for the front cover, if not it would work well as a feature page. The neutral cream top links nicely to the background and proves a nice contrast against her hair and eyes. However i think it needs to be edited to look better on the page, also the red in her hair has not been picked up by the camera.

I have tried a range of techniques on adobe photoshop to adjust the brightness and colour of the image. It turned out best when contrasted and brightened.

I adapted this picture to be A4 and gave it the magazine title, I think it makes a good front cover, however, i think it is too plain.

This image has a strong character and a filled page, it still needs adjustments but i think this could make a good front cover.

I think for the final cover, it still needs improvements, but this general look fits in with the theme of the other picture, and this one could possibly make a better front cover.

this one works much better, and has a simple red background, which is fine for my magazine, as i decided that the base colours will be black and white, with some blue, but the blue isn't a main colour.

I needed another image, as i chose to produce two double page articles, i picked another image, that would stand out, as it has used a prop to make it original, also it linked back to the article.

It isn't the strongest of mt images, but i felt it had potential when edited.

Throughout the magazine, i wanted to use a range of images, not just form the main article. So i went to my cousins gig and took some band pictures.

These images didn't undergo much editing, as i wanted them to seem like natural live shots.
I used the first one on the front cover in a small banner.
The second one served as a good contents page image
and the third i used in a preview of an article in the contents page.

also, I took some artistic images to use as album covers

For these images, i used props, sweets and microphones and took pictures of my friend, whilst editing them quite alot to resemble album artwork
For the 2nd one, i took a picture of a sparkler, an idea i developed over bonfire night, it worked well and fit in with the other images
I added titles and made them all roughly the same size and shape.
