By basing our film opening purely on current films, we wouldn't know if our target audience would find the film entertaining or not, so we decided to conduct further research into the likes and dislikes of teenagers aged between 13 and 18.
We showed participants the openings of the films we researched earlier (see previous blog entry) and asked them to rate each opening out of 10 (1 being really bad and 10 being excellent) and we allowed them to add further comments on the effectiveness of it, if necessary. By doing this we were hoping that we would discover certain likeable trends in the films and at least try to apply the techniques.
We used an online survey hosting site, SurveyMonkey.com, to create an online survey. We then posted a link to the survey on Yahoo! Answers, a popular Q&A site, inside the Polls & Surveys section. By posting this on such a wide scale like the Internet, we are hoping to collect as many opinions as physically possible to ensure the highest quality of our film opening.
We are hoping to receive results worth analysing from this survey in our next lesson.
