AS group 21

My radio station is going to be a Grime/UK Garage based radio station called DUB FM. There are not many radio stations which specialise in this genre of music, however the one that it most well known is BBC 1Xtra where many English and American artists have appeared. Most Grime and Garage stations however, are broadcast over the internet, or DAB radio. Grime is a mixture of dance music, and rap music, so I am going to find radio stations which specialise in these types of music and combine to two to make a grime station.

My show will be aimed at teenagers from different backgrounds. It is mainly aimed at teenagers from inner city Liverpool where much of the music comes from. The characteristics of a grime radio is a lot of interviews and freestyles, therefore my radio broadcast will have a short freestyle in it.

Here are some statistics of other radio stations from the Merseyside area. Which I got from www.rajar.co.uk Average

Radio City 96.7 seems to be a very eager radio station in the sense that they get a lot of listeners by offerering them several different things. They have a lot of competitions and games. Their music is very varied as they will play a rock song, and then something more suttel which keeps the audience happy as they have the different genres and not everybody likes one particular type of music.
